A hands-on look at the basics of networking. Using paper prototypes, we will visualise small local networks, learn about routers, switches and Wi-Fi security, and explore how community-owned networks can reduce environmental impact while improving digital access.

Together, we will explore where our everyday online activities actually travel, uncover the hidden material and energy costs of digital services, and discuss who benefits and who bears the impact of this infrastructure.

Through simple activities, discussion, and shared mapping, we will build a clearer picture of how the internet connects places, people, and environments, and consider how greater awareness can support more just and sustainable digital futures.
