Lochee Community Hub hosts Community Open Day to celebrate the Past, Present and Future of the Lochee community.
On Friday 30th May, you are invited to celebrate the community of Lochee, with a jampacked day of history, creativity and fun at the Lochee Community Hub’s Community Open Day! Kicking off at 11am, the day will have a bit of something for everyone, with a chance to see images and hear stories from throughout Lochee’s history, learn more about the organisations that offer support across Lochee, and get involved with many exciting stalls and activities.
This year, to celebrate the Lochee Community Hub a year on from its reopening, the open day will see all of the groups that the Lochee Communities Team and Hub support come together to reflect on their successes and share their hopes for the future.
All are invited to attend this free event. There will also be a range of activities and stalls to explore. With Fruitbowls community garden selling plants, Lochee Linties and others performing live, a creative activity with Art Angels for all the family, and face painting from 2pm onwards. We will also have tea, coffee and lunch available.
The day will also see the launch of the My Lochee exhibition; sharing stories and images from Lochee’s past, and the people who make Lochee what it is today. This has been made possible with support by Lochee’s Local History Group, the Lochee Community Hub Friendship Group, and Family Group, amongst many others. Come along to share your own memories of Lochee and leave your thoughts about what you hope to see across the community in the future.
Part of Dundee’s wider Year of Kindness activities, this celebration is supported by the Lochee Communities Team and Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action, raising awareness of the kindness and compassion that exists across Dundee and spreading hope for the future.

- Lochee Linties will be kicking off the celebration with a performance at 11am
- Fruitbowls plant stall will be on the High Street all day
- Facepainting will be available from 2 – 4pm
- Art Angel zine making workshop from 2pm – 4pm
