The Tay Whale

Hear this facinating story from Dundee’s past. Be captivated by storyteller legend Neil Paterson as he brings this famous event to life.

In November 1883 a young humpback whale swam into the Tay estuary. How did the Victorian population react? This is an extraordinary story of what happened next and how the bones of the whale ended up -suspended from the ceiling of the McManus Galleries in Dundee.

Performance lasts 50 minutes. No interval

Suitable for ages 7 and up until 9.00pm
