Waterstones is thrilled to announce a Children’s Book Festival in Dundee from Friday 6^th  – Sunday 8^th February 2026 in venues throughout the city including Caird Hall, Marryat Hall and The McManus Art Gallery & Museum.

Celebrating the joys of reading, writing and illustration, the festivals will feature author events, comic and writing workshops, storytelling, draw-alongs, craft activities, character costume appearances, and free school events.

The Waterstones Children’s Book Festival in Dundee kicks off on Friday 6^th February with free school events in Caird Hall, featuring authors including Cressida Cowell, Rashmi Sirdeshpande and Simon Lamb talking about their latest books and answering questions from attending pupils.

On Saturday and Sunday, the festivities will continue across various locations in Dundee, with events from authors and illustrators including a family event with Cressida Cowell, a BEANO event celebrating 75 years of mischief, a comic book workshop with Tom McLaughlin, and local author workshops and storytelling events with Fiona Lowry, Pauline Tait, David Macphail and the That’s Not My… and Don’t Tickle… book series, and much more! Additional activities will take place during the festival weekend in the Waterstones Dundee bookshop creating wide-reaching access to events throughout the city.
